White Award for his picture books, which include &lt;i&gt;Imogene’s Antlers&lt;/i&gt;, &lt;i&gt;The Gardener&lt;/i&gt;, and &lt;i&gt;So, You Want to Be President&lt;/i&gt;? Small’s most recent book, &lt;i&gt;Stitches&lt;/i&gt;, is a 2009 finalist for the National Book Award. He lives in Mendon, Michigan.
